How To Prepare Steam Dumplings :d

(Actually I don't know what to write about this topic, but after listening to some examples, I have decided to intro about cooking!!! Can't even think what to write from the beginning!!! @.@)

Getting your stomach full is just an easy way, but getting something special which can fulfill your stomach is the most difficult way. Everyone does know how to prepare a meal for own self, but do anyone know how difficult on preparing an appetizer??? Cantonese pastry is the most famous appetizer for everyone, and now it’s the time to DIY, steam dumplings. Is not as easy as making french-fries, let’s dig into the procedure.

First of all steps, is to prepare all the tools and utensils which are useful and needed in this process. Get a steaming pot clean and put it aside, then prepare a big bowl and some plates. Remember to ready some small plates and forks for your well-prepared dumplings.

Despite all the utensils, second steps are to get the food ready. Preparing the foods is the important steps of all, because all the foods must be in fresh condition!!! And meat is the central of the “fresh”, fish meat and prawns are the central of “fresh”. Put these two meats into the big bowl and start blending it with your bare hand. Sea foods are mostly the smelly one (which significant to fresh), try adding some white vinegar into it and continue blending them. For wet or dry spices, we must have soya sauce, sugar, salt, white pepper, shaoxing yellow wine, and sesame oil. If you need some spicy taste in your steam dumplings, try adding in some chili powder. And the most important thing to prepare is the dumpling skin.

Third steps are the steaming process. Get the cleaned steaming pot then add water into it and start boiling with it. After that, back to the foods, and start wrapping the dumplings. Before start wrapping the dumplings, must cut out the four edges of the dumpling skin. After wrapping everything, put the dumplings neatly and accordingly on the plate then continue put into the steaming pot.

And finally is serving time. Clean up the dining table and prepare all the plates and forks. As we know that, eating Cantonese pastry all we need is the sauces. Without the sauces, all those pastries will taste weird. (Feeling like wanna eat now!!!) Clean up everything in the kitchen; settle the dining table and the first dumplings are ready. Steam the dumplings if there are more else left. Small reminder, it will take fifteen to twenty minutes to steam those dumplings.

Steam dumplings are the famous food among Cantonese pastries, as well the price are expensive too~ Preparing my own steam dumplings are the best way to cut down my cost and also I enjoy the time making it. Another reminder need to keep it as for next day, don’t steam it first, wrap it and put it into the refrigerator and steam it again for next day. (^w^)
